Hayley Tuffin, Systemic Family and Couple Therapist, Supervisor and Consultant
An opportunity to
explore and
improve relationships

I am a family and couple therapist, qualified to work with couples, families and individuals of all ages, sexualities and gender identities.
I work to create a warm environment where you feel listened to and feel you can take the time to explore at your own pace be it in person or online. Sessions can be weekly, fortnightly, or sometimes monthly - to meet your needs.
I am also trained in EMDR (A trauma based therapy) and mindfulness, and can bring this to my practice.
For those of you who are qualified, I am a systemic supervisor
For those of you who want counselling or therapy, my practice is based in South Croydon, Surrey, South London or, I can see you online.

My approach
Couple Therapy
Couples come to me when they need to resolve issues, maybe from the past, or worries about the future.
Issues can include intimacy, anger, money or addiction to name but a few, or perhaps, you are coming together as parents for the first time and are wondering how things might be for you.
I have experience of working with couples who want to both improve their relationship or who are thinking how to end it amicably.
Family Therapy
I have worked with Families of all ages, be it with children, teenagers or grandparents. I have worked in CAMHS and schools.
Sometimes families are worried about their children at school; or families are struggling with being step families, or adult children are worried about their parents.
I have worked with people from all ages, from babies to grandparents across the generations. I have recently done some work with families where dementia is present and work on the loss and changes this brings about for family members.
EMDR Therapy
EMDR is an evidence based approach, approved under the NICE guidelines and is used to treat the symptoms of trauma. Its thought that when we experience traumatic events the thoughts, feelings and memories can get stuck and it can be hard to move on from them. It can feel like we are re-experiencing the trauma even though the events happened some time ago. The aim of EMDR is to help the brain to process those memories. The memory of the event is retained but the original trauma, alongside the fight, flight and freeze responses, are resolved. The hope is that you can get on with your life without being affected by the original event.
Individual Counselling
I can offer individual counselling if you want to use the Systemic approach. This means often people might want to explore relationships in their life either currently, or from the past
A more Solution Focused therapy looking at goals can also be offered individually.
